The church is built upon the Neo Gothic style in 1936 situated in the Diocese of Mysore. It is built in the honor of St. Philomena, who is the saint of the Catholic Church. The height of the Cathedral is 175 feet, which is having 800 people seating capacity. We can see glass paintings of the birth of Jesus, the last Supper, the Crucifixion, etc. It is one of the oldest churches in India, which is over 200 years old; there was a small church before 250 years.
Sri.Chamarajendra Wodeyar established Mysore Zoo in the year of 1892, later it changed as 'Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens'. Many wild animals, birds, reptiles, etc. are living there as close to the nature. It is a good place to take an educational trip with your children.
