One of the largest beaches in the world is the famous and attractive travel destinations in Chennai. A super place to see the sun rise and sunset by walking which is located around 3 km from the Chennai city. It is the centre of activities like sunbathing, fishing, wind- surfing, beach volleyball and kit flying. There is also park at Marina Beach with the sculptures of many leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, B.G. Tilak, Tiruvalluvar, wami Sivananda, Sir Thomas Munro, ect.
The attractive park in Chennai opened in 2010. It covers the areas of 20 Acres of land. It's located in the middle of the city. There are different types of trees and flowers from all over the world to give amazing knowledge of the plants and to enjoy the green beauty of the world. There are trees which aged above 100. The park is well made for entertainment especially for children. Semmozhi Poonga is the place to feel the natural air in the concrete jungles.
The intention behind the Huddleston Gardens is to bring the attention of universal brotherhood. It was established in 1883. It possesses the areas of 260 acres which is thr best place for bird watching activities. You can find one of the oldest trees in the park. The banyan tree is 450 years old, spread 59500 sq. ft area of land.
The first Zoo in India is made in Chennai, which was established in the year 1855. It was shifted to Vandalur in from the Moor market. It spread the area of 510-hectare. There are more than 170 types of wild animals such as tiger, panther, lion, hyena, elephants and others. You can enjoy the lion safaris and Elephant rides also.
It is built during the rule of British government in India. It has a collection of more than 3500 antiquities. There are antiquities of medals, Weapons, medallions, Porcelains and oil painting portraits. All of them are arranged in descent manner to understand the audience. Indo- French gallery is very much attractive by showing clocks, porcelain, coins and stamps. The unique pieces of antiquities displayed in St.Goerge fort made the place the unique attraction in the world.
It is believed that Swami Vivekananda Stayed there for some days. The house was built in 1877 in beautiful Victorian architecture.
As the name declares, it is the memorial of the soldiers who fought and died in the two world wars. It was made at the time of the First World War as the memory of First World War victory. But after second war, it formed as the memory of the militias who fought and died in the Second World War. It is located on the Marina Beach road. It is a better place for students who are interested to study histories.
The tomb of St. Thomas is situated in Chennai. The Church was built in 1600 A.D by Portuguese. It is built in the Neo-Gothic style of architecture.
It is one of the famous Christian pilgrimage centers in Asia. The Church built in the honor of Marry the Mother of Jesus Christ.
